I’m assuming that if you’re reading this than either your answer to the titular question is “no, why?” or that you’ve already been to Sears some time this week.  Because either way, these deals are just too good to pass up, but the sale was for this week only (from Sunday December 7th to Saturday December 13th (that’s today!)).  Personally, I was seriously lagging this week, assuming that all of the best deals had come and gone with Black Friday.  But as soon as I’m done sharing this information with all of my loyal readers I’ll be heading up to Oakridge in San Jose to drop some cash at our nearest Sears.

When I was a kid we had a ping pong table in our back yard, but I was always jealous of my friends who had pool tables in their homes.  Now, thanks to Sears just about everyone can afford to have both.  That’s because they’ve  dropped the price on their $400 Fullerton seven foot pool table (with conversion top to make it a ping pong table) all the way back to $279.99!

I had been considering building a terrarium or vivarium here in The Caverns, but the property management company has nixed the idea of little critters possibly roaming free around the apartment. So now I’m thinking about the possibility of cultivating saltwater fish. I’m aware that their supposed to be much more difficult to maintain than freshwater fish, but I’m looking for something “out of the ordinary” or at least “special” in some way. With the landlord’s strictures they may be my only choice.

The big problem? There really isn’t anywhere in Morgan Hill to buy saltwater fish

Yes, you read that right. We’re looking into Contemporary Style Ceiling Fans that our landlord might permit us to install in order to stay warm in the winter. You see, we live in low-cost housing that was built as low cost housing. In other words, they trimmed costs wherever possible during the building process as well. Which means that, for instance, there’s no insulation between floors. So when we turn on the central heat all of the warm air comes out of the vents (which are located at the top of the walls) and tends to float right through the ceiling into the upstairs, failing to heat the downstairs of the house. Of course, this also means that the upstairs gets stiflingly hot by the time the downstairs is merely comfortable.

With a Hugger Style Ceiling Fan we could run it on low in the winter and thus pull the warm air down from the ceiling (hopefully before it escapes upstairs) and into the room itself. After all, people don’t live on the ceiling. They tend to hang out in the bottom five feet or so of a room. So that’s where the heat needs to go.

We actually found a great selection of Decorative Style Ceiling Fans at CeilingFanWarehouse.com to choose from and have narrowed our choices down to a few that are both affordable and don’t seem like they’ll appear out of place in our smallish apartment. When I first wrote about saving up to 50% off luxury watches back in April I was assured by several readers that The Watchery was a scam site that would disappear within days of my order being placed. While visiting the Tennant Station Safeway this afternoon to cash in my free sandwich coupon I came across an interesting find. Currently piled up in front of Safeway are numerous new electronic signs advertising a self service pet wash as well as a brand new full-size Safeway sign.

It was just last week that this Safeway removed two cash registers and replaced them with self-service registers.  Personally, I’m not a fan of self-service registers, but I know that many people are fans and I haven’t seen many problems with them thus far.

The real questions is where is this dog wash area going to go?  I suppose they could remove the flower display area in the front of the store (near the West entrance), but it doesn’t seem there’d be much room there.  And do you really want people washing their dogs so close to your fruit and vegetables? I don’t think that I do.
