I’m not much of a holiday shopper. Instead, I’m the kind of guy that prefers to present personal gifts for people whenever or wherever I come across them, rather than waiting for the calendar to recommend that I do so. This year, however, I’m giving in to the holiday shopping spirit as one of my roommates has made serious progress on keeping his room clean.  So I decided to buy him a vacuum.

Today, Thursday May 15th, is the 14th Annual Bay Area Bike To Work Day. Unfortunately I can’t participate since I work from home, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be riding my bike instead of walking today just so I can feel like one of the ‘cool kids’. Besides if I stop by the “energizer station” over at the Morgan Hill Train Depot I can get some free snacks and goodies courtesy of Morgan Hill Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee . Yesterday I wrote a post about the Dockers contest in which people are creating their own television commercial for Dockers. Well, I’ve been browsing through some of the entries thus far and I have only one thing to say – if you haven’t submitted your Dockers commercial yet you absolutely still should. In other words, I’m not overly impressed.

There’s still plenty of room for improvement and I know that my fellow Morgan Hill residents have what it takes to blow away the competition thus far. Seriously, so far an entry from New York is just about the best they’ve got going and it features a guy with REALLY bad spelling talking about how Dockers changed his life (though they didn’t improve his spelling). You can see it and all of the other entries thus far at the NBC Dockers video contest site.

Now, wouldn’t it be great to have some entries from Morgan hill played on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno? Where’s your town spirit? With all of the artists and creative types we’ve got living here surely someone can produce a better Dockers television commercial than that. What’s that? You don’t have the time?
