Jelly Belly Tour at Tennant Station Safeway
While heading to Safeway at Tennant Station for my roommate’s weekly shopping trip I was both elated and dismayed to find the Jelly belly RV and Volkswagen Beetle present in their parking lot.
Elated because, well, who doesn’t like Jelly Bellies? And they were giving them away, for free, right there in the parking lot. Dismayed, because they were taking up several of the closest parking spots, including one of the handicap stalls. My roommate has serious mobility issues (which is why I take him grocery shopping) and the handicap spots for Safeway are always much in demand. Losing one of them to a promotion was not very pleasing.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Jelly Bellies. In fact Zaira and I have made more than one trip up to Fairfield to take the Jelly Belly Factory Tour. And it was obvious that kids (from 8 to 80) were enjoying having Mr. Jelly Belly visit our home town. However, both Jelly Belly and Safeway should really think a little harder about where they’re going to set up in the future. After all, I don’t think the plan is to alienate customers.
