SVCT’s “It’s A Wonderful Life” in Morgan Hill

The South Valley Civic Theatre’s holiday production of It’s A Wonderful Life opens on Saturday, November 29th at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse.  The stage production was adapted from Frank Capra’s ubiquitous Christmas film by James W. Rodgers (author of Play Director’s Survival Kit: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Producing Theater in Any School or Community Setting). In case you’re somehow unfamiliar with this classic story it’s the saga of George Bailey, the “everyman” from the small town of Bedford Falls (supposedly a fictionalization of Seneca Falls, NY).  George’s dreams of adventure and escaping small town life have been dashed by family obligation and civic duty.  As if that wasn’t enough, his guardian angel appears on Christmas Eve to save him from despair by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born.  In the process, George learns that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.
