Safeway Self-Service Dog Wash at Tennant Station?

While visiting the Tennant Station Safeway this afternoon to cash in my free sandwich coupon I came across an interesting find. Currently piled up in front of Safeway are numerous new electronic signs advertising a self service pet wash as well as a brand new full-size Safeway sign.

It was just last week that this Safeway removed two cash registers and replaced them with self-service registers.  Personally, I’m not a fan of self-service registers, but I know that many people are fans and I haven’t seen many problems with them thus far.

The real questions is where is this dog wash area going to go?  I suppose they could remove the flower display area in the front of the store (near the West entrance), but it doesn’t seem there’d be much room there.  And do you really want people washing their dogs so close to your fruit and vegetables? I don’t think that I do.

A self service dog wash? I have never heard of or seen such a thing. That would be odd to witness. I use the self serve stands at Home Depot all the time. They are easy and fast to use.

Apparently the signs were just on a layover of some sort. It’s been a month since they were laying out front and they haven’t been installed, nor has any dog wash appeared. I haven’t checked the Dunne Safeway, though, so maybe it’s there.
