Improvements At The Morgan Hill Mervyns
This is my third entry on the Mervyns on Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill. Neither of the previous posts were very flattering, but things were looking up today, for the most part.
The only problem we had occurred immediately upon our arrival at around 11:30am. The single handicap parking spot was occupied as were the two nearby spots that used to be handicap parking. Cochrane Plaza is a fairly large shopping center, and even the handicap parking spot is roughly 50 yards from Mervyns front door, not to mention it’s another 75 yards or so inside to get to the men’s clothing areawhere my client was shopping. of course, since there is only a single handicap spot and all of the other nearby spots were already occupied we ended up parking more than 100 yards from the frint doors. My client was exhausted from the walk before he even entered the front doors.
However, after we made it over to the men’s clothing area (after taking a 10 minute rest break) we found it to be much cleaner and more well organized than on our last visit. Still not up to corporate standards in any retail store I ever worked, but at least it’s improving. Unlike our previous visits there was actually a cashier ready and waiting at the register when we arrived. Her name was Teri and she was great. Although she offered the current “get a credit card to get a discount” spiel that all employees are required to greet people with she quickly let the matter drop and moved on with our transaction. She was patient with my clientas he struggled to complete his end of the transaction, but always aware of the customer who had lined up behind us, acknowledging her and handling the transaction as quickly and smoothly as possible.
