The bowling alley next door over has plenty of the "other" sort of night people.

Morgan Hill is struggling with night life. I suspect it will get better over time, as folks get more sophisticated. At least the Mushroom thing books some decent acts like AC Myles and Four Way or Lou Delucca.

We still showcase 60 year-olds singing "Pink" songs at the Friday Night street dance, along with stuff that only faintly resembles the original from 30 years ago - (sorry folks - no ding on musical skills intended - it's just that...never mind... ).

And for some reason, we're stuck with 4th of July events that always feature exerable "classic rock" - over and over and over again - repeat (and over again).

It's rare to get a Red Beans and Rice, or any original like Garcia or Dwight or Czarneki - "real musicians" - but it does happen. And the difference in audience is amazing. Look at San Jose's 2 free park events - a nice mix. All fairly original.

No wonder my kids roll their eyes and opt for San Jose's Blank or somewhere in the City or Santa Cruz. And I do as well, although I am probably too old for it.

My visitors from LA, up for the Garlic Festival, were truly appalled at what they saw in downtown Morgan Hill Friday Night.

That is the crux of the issue towards building any real interest in MH as a destination, or building any nightlife.
