Upcoming Morgan Hill Town Hall Meetings
Apparently the police, fire and emergency medical services aren’t up to snuff. At least, that’s the case according to the latest postcard I received from the City of Morgan Hill. Personally, I have seen neither dead bodies nor burned out husks littering our fair town and if the police have time to sit out on Monterey with a radar gun looking for speeders a couple of hours everyday there must not be too much crime. So where, exactly are they falling down?
Oh, but wait! Reading on it turns out this isn’t really about services at all. It’s about money, surprise surprise. Apparently the City Council is considering a new utility tax because it has “identified a need to enhance” these public services. Well, I need utilities, but I still don’t see a need for police, fire or public ambulance service. I don’t suppose that means I can get away without paying the new extortion…er…taxes they’re no doubt going to decide to levy.

The first Town Hall Meeting on “Public Safety Service Levels” will be held this coming Saturday, May 17th between 9:30 and 11:30am at Paradise Valley Elementary School, 1400 La Crosse Drive. The second meeting on the same topic will be held Wednesday June 11th from 7-9pm at Jackson Elementary School, 2700 Fountain Oaks Drive.
