Jitterbug Cell Phone Not Just For Seniors Anymore

There are more than 2,500 senior citizens living in the 12 square mile area that makes up our little town of Morgan Hill. So it’s not surprising that as I wander my daily wanderings I encounter quite a few of them. After all, even though I work the equivalent of three jobs I have a lot of free time during the day, just as retired folx do.

Well, a few days ago I came across a beautiful elderly woman digging through the bushes over by the Centennial Recreation Center. It turns out she had dropped her cell phone and was having difficulty locating it. After a few minutes we turned up her Jitterbug behind a rather large plant.  This lead to a conversation about the phone and I must say that despite being more than two decades from the title of ‘senior citizen’ myself I now want one of these phones.

I happily killed off my last cell phone about six months ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.  But that doesn’t mean I haven’t seen the drawbacks of not having a phone with me 24/7.  I just never liked the things so never really learned how to use them.  But since the Jitterbug is aimed at the non-tech savvy I learned evverything I needed to know to take full advantage of this phone in a 15 minute conversation with a regular user.  And if I were ever to forget how to do anything there’s always an operator one button away that can provide any service I desire.

Plus, they’ve got exactly the type of service plans I was looking for.  First off, they’re cheap – as low as $15 per month.  Second of all their national coverage.  Most importantly there is no contract and you can change from one plan to another with the friendly assistance of that operator I mentioned who is only a single button push away.

I didn’t even know about such a service – it’s something I think my parents might enjoy. Thanks for the headsup!
