Overcoming Genre Drought In An American Small Town
I just saw the trailer for Frontier(s) and frankly, I’m disgusted. Not that this highly controversial, uncut, unrated French horror masterpiece is going to be shown in movie theaters across America on May 9th. No, that I’m actually pretty pleased about. What has me so disgusted I can barely type is the fact that the closest theater to me is all the way down in Los Angeles. I’ve been a horror fan since I learned to read - sneaking out to the living room to watch late night Creature Features as a kid; trying my hand (and failing miserably) at making my own films as a young teen; poring over every issue of Fangoria; being the first in line for every major horror release. But apparently, now that I live in Morgan Hill, that must all come to a screeching halt as opposed to continuing to scream along

So, if you’re a true fan of horror living in (or around) Morgan Hill, consider this your call to arms! Write, call, email and personally visit our local theater and ask, neigh!, demand that they book Frontier(s) for at least a limited engagement. I know you’re out there, people. Join me and refuse to wait for the DVD release the following Tuesday! Make your thirst for blood known!
The next time I check the theater listings at the official Frontier(s) website I wanna see Morgan Hill right along side Los Angeles, New York, and the 8 other cities who have faith and understanding in their local horror audience.
