Frank Dicker CD Release Party At BookSmart
Frank Dicker - singer, songwriter, and former member of Deepstone will be performing live for the first time in 30 years to celebrate the release of his new CD: Dicker. BookSmart in downtown Morgan Hill will be hosting Frank Dicker on Saturday, May 15th as part of their Family Fun-Raiser (benefiting the Friday Night Music Series). Mr. Dicker’s son, J.R. Dicker (of local Santa Cruz Band The Sally Growlers) will be accompanying him on the drums.
From Frank Dicker’s page at CDBaby-
Frank always sang and wanted to be a singer like the ballad singers of times gone by. When he first heard Eddie Fisher in the early 50’s he knew he wanted to sing. In the 60’s rock took over and Frank also fell in love with the music of the day. His music runs through many genres that he’s been influenced by and it shows in his writing.
His song “LA Town” is a classic rocker while “Sweet Honey Pie (Nashville) is bluegrass. Your senses will be soothed as well as stimulated by a number of mellow love songs. He has always placed the lyrics and storytelling above anything else and states “the lyrics come first and the music is there to support the story.”
When you listen you might be taken back into a past musical period although Frank firmly believes his music is as real today as any other period of time.
In addition to the song stylings of Frank Dicker (and son) BookSmart will also have Ezy-Roller Races, a hot dog eating contest, craft tables, raffle prizes and more. Another wondreful family event from BookSmart (2nd & Depot)
