Morgan Hill Coin Counter Comparison

I love to spend money. I don’t mean buy things on credit, I mean spend money, dollar bills, cold hard cash. This means I end up with a lot of change. All of this change goes into a jar (of sorts) on my desk until the jar gets full enough to empty. I’m sure you do something similar.

This, of course, leaves you with two choices-

  1. Spend hours counting and rolling the change, or
  2. Find a coin counting machine

Luckily, choice two is fairly easy in Morgan Hill as both the Safeway in Tennant Station and the Nob Hill in Vinyeard Town Center have automated counting machines. Both charge the same fee ($0.089 per dollar counted, rounded to the nearest cent – or, if you’re a risk-taker, click here), but the Coinstar machine in Nob Hill is not only cleaner and more attractive to use, but it also has several features you might want to consider.

Donate Your Change To Charity-

Coinstar will donate your collected change (minus a reduced fee of 7.5%) to the charity of your choice. options include local charities as well as all the big names like the Red Cross, World Wildlife Foundation, Pearl Harbor Memorial, and the March of Dimes.

Get Your Change Counted For Free-

The greatest benefit of Coinstar is that it allows you to cash in your change for gift certificates to select stores at zero cost to you. Personally, I always go with Amazon.com, but there are half a dozen choices in this machine-

  1. Amazon.com – Min. $5 – Max. $1,000
  2. iTunes – Min. $5.00 – Max. $1,000
  3. JC Penney – Min. $5.00 – Max. $500.00
  4. Circuit City -Min. $5.00 – Max. $9,999.00
  5. Eddie Bauer – Min. $5.00 – Max. $500.00
  6. DisneyShopping.com – Min. $5.00 – Max. $1,500

That’s right, you can actually buy your new plasma television with pocket change :D

The fee for Coinstar is $0.089 per dollar counted, rounded to the nearest cent and not “$0.89 per dollar counted, rounded to the nearest cent” as in your post.
Those darn zeros become important when they are around decimals.
