What Morgan Hill Is Missing - Surplus Store

I’m really starting to get my new hometown as a result of writing this blog. It’s forcing me to explore corners of the community I haven’t in the past. It turns out that even though we’re a “small” town by my standards we’ve actually got quite a lot going on. However, yesterday I discovered something that we’re definitely Missing: an Army-Navy surplus store.

I used to shop at surplus stores on a weekly basis when I was younger. The clothing and equipment that can be purchased there is not only usually less expensive, but more durable as well. Sure, the clothes aren’t necessarily the height of fashion, but when you’re living on the streets durability is much more important than style anyway.

In fact, it was during my homeless years that I discovered the myriad uses for BDU pants. With all those pockets they’re perfect for the man on the go (or with no place to go). With my big trip coming up I realized I could use another pair or two to avoid the necessity of carrying a backpack. Alas, none are to be found in Morgan Hill. Thank god for shopping online :)
